Az Yashir Moshe is one of the most complete benchers ever compiled. It contains:
- The full traditional Birkat Hamazon, as well as Bracha Achronah, the special additions for a wedding or a brit milah, a special shortened benching piyyut from the 2nd century, and new harachamans composed by contemporary rabbis and Yale students. - Full liturgy for Shabbat and Festival home ceremonies, including candle lighting, traditional and new liturgy for after the lighting of candles, Eshet Chayil and blessing of the children, Kiddush for Shabbat and festivals (designed for maximum ease of use), Havdalah (with the full Hamavdil piyyut), and Kiddush Levana. - The complete traditional Ashkenazic zmirot for Shabbat, plus several Sephardic zmirot, and a special section for the Seudah Shlishit meal, the longest in a commercially available bencher. - Dozens of pages of short songs, including a special section for weddings and other simchas. - Over twenty five pages of Israeli songs, Yiddish songs in Yiddish and English, and musically notated niggunim. - A full Chanukah service, including candle lighting, the full Maoz Tzur, and popular songs. Every word of liturgy and song has been newly translated for Az Yashir Moshe by Yale students and alumni to capture the poetry of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Yiddish. And all song lyrics and words of prayer are linearly transliterated, in the innovative new format created by Joshua Meyer and Aliza Dzik (view the pdfs for samples), making the bencher among the most beautiful, accessible and easy-to-use in existence.
